Several 4-H members from Currituck County recently traveled to Raleigh to compete in the State 4-H Horse Bowl Contest.  Currituck's 4-H program offers numerous opportunities for young people to learn by doing.  Youth are then given opportunities to demonstrate their knowledge and are often rewarded with trips, monetary prizes and even scholarships.  To find out how these young ladies did at the contest...
4-H & YOUTH DEVELOPMENT
Building robots, model homes, circuits and lamps are just a few of the exciting things participants in the upcoming electric series will get to experience.  Students can choose to attend just one or all of the workshops to be held over the next several months. These sessions are designed to reinforce concepts learned in school; introduce students to careers in science, technology, engineering and math; help youth gain valuable leadership and presentation skills and certainly, allow students an opportunity to have fun while doing it all!  The first workshop will be held on  Monday, April 6 . FAMILY & CONSUMER SCIENCE
Extension and Community Association (ECA) clubs throughout Currituck County support the efforts of Cooperative Extension by strengthening, developing, coordinating and extending education to improve the quality of living. One of the ways the Corolla ECA completes this mission is by raising funds for many community projects including 4-H Backpacks for Kids, camp scholarships and much more. Consider supporting their upcoming High Tea and Fashion Show fundraiser to be held on  Wednesday, April 29.  Read more.
