TORONTO, On (July 3, 2015) - Hot off an invigorating conference focused on sustainability in sports, Canada's Best Racing Team (CBRT) is fired up and ready to keep the conversation going.
The Green Sports Alliance Summit hosted in Chicago this past week featured a number of engaging speakers across the sports industry, including motorsports professionals from Circuit of The Americas, Pocono Raceway, Sonoma Raceway and Andretti Autosport, in addition to CBRT Driver Joey McColm who was a featured athlete at the conference.

CBRT joined nearly 300 teams and venues at the worlds largest conference focused on sustainability in sports. |
"We can't hide from the fact that we are in a sport where we burn fossil fuels and rubber. As we look to be a leader from within to inspire change, our focus is to commit to simple environmental actions that will lead to big impacts. This is important because we have an opportunity to show our fans that they can do it too through simple choices," said McColm.
With this in mind, Canada's Best Racing Team heads to Circuit ICAR in Mirabel, Quebec, where Drivers Joey McColm and Erica Thiering will race in the Ecko Unlimited 100 on Sunday, July 5 at 2:30 p.m. This will mark the fourth event in the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series (NCATS) presented by Mobil 1.
Therefore, CBRT is taking a "Stand for Trees" and will purchase the equivalent offsets in Stand for Trees Certificates so that forests are left standing to do what they do best - store carbon, produce oxygen, provide habitat and support local communities.
Fans can follow the team over social media using the #WeAreRacers hashtag, as well as the #CBRTGreen hashtag to learn more about what the team is doing to support green initiatives.
