KNOW WHAT YOU'VE GOT - NOT ALL I-9 TOOLS ARE THE SAME

Recently, Lookout met with a new customer who was using an onboarding tool which included an electronic I-9.  However, the owner who purchased the tool didn't realize that the tool was completely void of error-checking activities.  Several thousand I-9s were completed using this tool.

It was only when the owner hired a new HR Director, who had used Lookout's I-9 Solution with a previous employer, that the owner became aware of the deficiencies of the company's existing system.  The HR Director immediately contacted Lookout and the company owner was provided with a demonstration of Lookout's error-checking I-9.

After seeing the differences between the two systems and recognizing the benefits of the I-9 Solution, the owner determined to implement the I-9 Solution going forward, but also to use the I-9 Solution to audit the existing I-9 Forms created by the onboarding tool.  The I-9 Solution revealed that the existing records, approximately 1600 I-9s, contained nearly $500,000.00 in potential fines.

After several weeks of working to correct the existing records, the HR Director and the company's owner have peace of mind knowing that the I-9 Solution has allowed them to neutralize the existing liabilities and manage future risk, by providing a tool with real-time error-checking and central oversight.
