Social Justice Summit
The Ethnic Studies Department is teaming up with FC S.T.O.M.P. and Latina Leadership Network for the inaugural Fullerton College Social Justice Summit on Friday, Nov. 20 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on the quad and the 200 Building. This one-day event brings together community members to explore various social justice issues.

President's Open Forum, Office Hour
The campus community is invited to the next President's Open Forum today at 2 p.m. in Building 200, Room 224. Interim President, Dr. Greg Schulz will also be holding office hours on Tues, Nov. 17 from 1-2 p.m. in Building 100. This office hour is designed to encourage students, faculty, staff and the community to engage in exclusive one-on-one time with Dr. Schulz.
2015 Visiting Writer Announced
Jimmy Santiago Baca, bestselling novelist, American Book Award Winner, screenwriter, and author of
A Place to Stand, will be appearing at the Wilshire Auditorium on Thursday, Nov. 19, at 6:30 p.m. as part of the 2015 Visiting Writer event presented by the Humanities Division, the Puente Program, the Ethnic Studies Department, and Cadena Cultural Center.

Debaters Take Top Awards at CSUF Blumer Tournament
Fullerton College debaters took top awards at the 21st CSUF Blumer Speech and Debate Tournament on Saturday, Nov. 14. Facing CSUF in both open and novice division finals, FC's Zach Turner and Brian Wheat took first place in Open Public Forum Debate, while partners, Zoe Kline-Koeing and Daniel Trandell-Smoke took second to CSUF in novice speaker awards.

FC Drive Seeks Donations to Help Families this Thanksgiving
The Fullerton College Ethnic Studies Department is teaming up with M.E.Ch.A. and Associated Students for its 46th annual Thanksgiving Food Drive. This drive provides food for deserving families as identified by various Fullerton College service groups. Last year the drive helped more than 100 families, and this year the drive hopes to serve more families.

Take Advantage of Late Hours at the Transfer Center
Transfer Nights is a joint collaboration between the Fullerton College Transfer Center and Humanities Division providing assistance with UC personal statements and CSU and UC applications. Umoja: American Denial Screening and Discussion and Financial Aid Workshop
This screening and discussion will take place on Thursday, Nov. 19 in Building 400, Room 410 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. and is part of Umoja's Fall Race Series. Students, staff and faculty are welcome. Veterans Assistance Workshops
The VRC and representatives from the Employment Development Department are hosting an Employment Development Workshop on Tuesday, Nov. 17 from 11 a.m. to noon in Building 500, Room 518 to offer assistance in job searches, resume writing, and more for veterans. SCF Securities, Inc. and the VRC are hosting a Financial Planning workshop on Wedsnesday, Nov. 18 from 1 to 2 p.m. in Room 518. Veterans will receive help with GI Bill budgeting, financial planning and more. There will be a free gift card opportunity drawing at this event. Encuentros is a unique art exhibition that brings together works of art from ancient Mexico and other regions of Latin America.
Clarinet choir, flute choir and chamber ensembles perform chamber music directed by David Lopez. This concert will be in the Recital Hall at 7:30 p.m. Tickets for adults are $10, students and seniors are $7 and children are $5.

Football
The #5 Hornets (6-4) will host #10 Chaffey College (6-4) in the Western State Bowl game on Nov. 21. The bowl game will be played at Yorba Linda High's Nathan Shapell Stadium. Kickoff will be at 1 p.m. Former long-time Hornet Equipment Manager Norm Perez passed on last Thursday night.

Women's Water Polo
Fullerton's strong season-long push for another state title came to an end on Saturday at the Southern California Regionals with a 6-9 upset by San Diego Mesa College.

Fullerton College men's basketball was able to capture the 32nd annual Fullerton Classic championship with a 75-63 victory over Chaffey College in Saturday's final.

The FC men's soccer team ended their November win-streak (3-0), and their season, on Friday at the hands of Orange Coast College 5-0. The Hornets wrapped up their 2015 campaign with an overall record of 6-13-2.

Hornet players Desiree Lopez and Brigid Ruiz were chosen to the 2015 NFCA Academic Junior College All-America Scholar Team.
