With the recent fire at the Westlake Fire Station, it may seem confusing about how emergency services are handled during this time. We want to stress to all residents to please call 9-1-1 as you normally would if any emergency situation arises. Please do not worry about where the call will go or who will answer the call.
Westlake fire staff is operating just like they do everyday, except they are currently responding to calls out of Southlake Fire Station No. 3 - just a few short miles away on Dove Road. We expect to have our Westlake fire staff back home, at their Dove Road location, in temporary living quarters by mid-week while on-site clean-up begins.
Last night, a Town Council emergency meeting was held at 5 p.m. to address the immediate funding needs to begin reestablishment of Westlake's emergency services department. The council unanimously approved a
resolution allowing gross expenditures not to exceed $200,000, with a sizable portion offset by insurance coverage/proceeds.
We sincerely appreciate the kind words and offers of help received throughout the week from our community! For those feeling strongly about providing assistance with the Fire Department's re-establishment, we ask that you contact Assistant Town Manager Amanda DeGan
for further information via
email or at (817) 490-5715. Westlake truly is a unique place to call home - and for that, we are grateful to each and every one of you!
