The Word of God says "When the foundations are being destroyed, what can the righteous do?" (Psalm 11:3). Very sadly the Christian values that have made Australia a great place to live are rapidly being undermined and are in danger of collapse. Our foundations are being destroyed! 

Recently we witnessed how a major political party, that once stood strongly for marriage and family, has capitulated to the agenda of homosexual activists.

 

After 2019, any Labor member who votes to support marriage as one man and one woman will be automatically expelled from the party.

 

Those parliamentarians who resisted this change have been marginalised and ridiculed. Read more here.

 

There is now no room for those who believe that marriage is solely between "a man and a woman to the exclusion of all others, voluntarily entered into for life" as defined in the Marriage Act.

 

It is astounding to think that only eleven years ago, the 2004 amendment to the Marriage Act of 1961 was carried unanimously by both houses of Federal Parliament! Until then, the Marriage Act did not explicitly define marriage because, at the time it was drafted, everyone understood what marriage was. 

 

Yes, our foundations are rapidly being destroyed. Will you stand with us to protect Christian values in Australia?

 

The Canberra Declaration, released on 23 July, 2010, is an urgent call to protect in particular religious freedom, marriage and family and the sanctity of human life.  Even right now, in our Federal and State Parliaments there are attempts to redefine marriage, introduce euthanasia and curtail freedom of speech.

 

The Declaration was written by a number of Christian leaders from a cross-section of church denominations.  It declares that "when Christian values are respected and allowed freedom of expression, our society is richer and healthier".  To date it has been signed by over 60,000 Australians who are willing to take a stand.

We must rebuild on the only real and lasting foundation "the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ"
