Annual CSI Architectural Scavenger Hunt
July 14, 2015 from 5:30-7:30 PM
Grab a map, the clues, a compass, and comfortable shoes - it's our Fourth Annual Architectural Scavenger Hunt! This year we will be focused on History in the Yamhill District, the oldest part of the city. Come and test your architectural knowledge! Each team will be given a map and clues about the each building's exterior facade and historical relevance. The Team with the most correct answers wins! This is a great event for meeting up with friends, or making some new ones. Meet us on the northeast corner of 2nd and Oak. After the Scavenger Hunt, the winner will be announced at Kells Irish Pub. NW Natural has partnered with the Oregon Chapter of ASHRAE to offer local architects, engineers, government employees and students an opportunity to receive training on High-Performance Building Design Training - Morning session approved by AIA and GBCI. Course participants will receive 3 PDHs/AIA LUs or .3 CEUs for this course. Class Session: This course will present applications of new technologies and design concepts to achieve the goal of high-performance buildings, including net-zero or nearly net-zero energy buildings. The course discusses exactly what a high-performance building is from the perspective of various stakeholders. High performance is more than just energy efficiency, and this course addresses issues and methods for providing high performance in areas beyond energy efficiency, such as indoor environmental quality. The course also describes future trends toward high-performance buildings across the globe, and quickly summarizes how ASHRAE Standards (existing and those in development) address these topics.
