Video Premier: WCDC Small Business Marketing Campaign
Check out our new video featuring some of Wilkinsburg's small businesses

Over the past year, we worked with writers and photographers to develop stories featuring entrepreneurs that do business in Wilkinsburg.

From classic soul food to gourmet ice cream, turn of the century letterpress to innovative organic garden care, international construction to hand-forged jewelry, over 150 businesses call Wilkinsburg home.

Please join us in Wilkinsburg tomorrow for a ribbon cutting at the recently reopened Nancy's East End Diner, 616 South Ave., beginning at 5:30 p.m. Nancy's is a classic breakfast and lunch diner that originally opened in Wilkinsburg in the 1970s. Under new ownership, the diner is pleased to offer an array of fresh, locally-sourced food and coffee to the Wilkinsburg community. Learn more about Wilkinsburg's newest old establishment, check out yesterday's article in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

After the ribbon cutting, head next door for a gallery opening at Tip Type, a letterpress print shop and art space that opened in Wilkinsburg last winter. Tip Type is located at 606-608 South Ave. Prints, drawings, and paintings by local artist, Jason David LaCroix, will be on exhibit, 6-9 p.m. The show will run through March 22, Tuesdays through Saturdays, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. We hope to see you in Wilkinsburg tomorrow evening!

Community Meeting: Wilkinsburg Vacant Home Tour
Help us develop the tour route next Tuesday, March 3

A project created by graduate students at Carnegie Mellon University, the Vacant Home Tour will take place in Wilkinsburg this spring. The tour will showcase abandoned properties and lead tour goers on a journey back in time through the narratives of Wilkinsburg's many historic buildings.

To gather input and ideas from community members, Kenneth Chu, project coordinator, will host a second community planning meeting next Tuesday, March 3, 6 p.m. at Hosanna House (807 Wallace Ave., 2nd Floor Conference Room). Please plan to attend!
