House Update: October 2015
Michelle's Message

Hello,

Not a day goes by that I am not amazed by the support we receive throughout the community. From our daily meal groups and service project partners to our incredible donors and volunteers, the love and support you bring to our House is staggering. Earlier this month, we were lucky to be part of another Eli Lilly Global Service Day. We were blown away by the generosity of Tilson when arrived at the House with over 530 wish list items, and we were overcome with gratitude to Home Depot when they donated three, brand-new grills to replace our old ones...just to name a few! However, the love does not stop there. In this newsletter, you'll read about some of our upcoming community events, such as the RMHC Day of Change, on Oct. 15, at participating McDonald's locations and a week-long web-a-thon hosted by B105.7.

It's an exciting time here at the House and, as always, I am so grateful to be a part of it. Each year, the Ronald McDonald House of Indiana serves over 5,000 families. It is only because of the remarkable community, corporate and individual support that we receive that we can remain open 365 days a year, keeping families together when it counts most.

Thank you,

Michelle Study-Campbell, CEO

Celebrating Our Volunteers
All of our volunteers at the Ronald McDonald House of Indiana make a difference in the lives of the families that walk through our doors. They do this by cooking, cleaning, listening and most importantly, showing compassion. On Sept. 25, we celebrated our volunteers at the Indiana Landmarks Center and recognized them for their countless contributions to the House and to more than 5,000 families we serve every year.

Lori Kleiman Award Winners

Lori Kleiman was one of RMHI's high valued and very special volunteers dating back to our opening in 1982. Her dedication and caring qualities added so much to the House. Since her passing, the Ronald McDonald House recognizes volunteers that most exemplify her dedication and values with this special award.

Liz Chapline has served as a Guest Services Volunteer and mentor at our Limestone location since 2014. She is known to be very meticulous and dependable and will always go the extra mile for anyone in need. Thank you Liz for being a great example for other volunteers.

Marie Shea has been volunteering for over nine years and continues to represent the House in a variety of ways. She serves as a Guest Services Volunteer, a mentor at both Limestone and Riley and delivers coffee with the C3 Coffee Cart at Riley. Thank you Marie for continuing to find new ways to serve the families at RMHI.

Helping Hands Award

This award represents individuals, companies and organizations who respond to the needs of our families through generous gifts and support of our mission.
Your Small Change Can Make A Big Difference

Come celebrate the RMHC Day of Change with us on Oct. 15 by donating your spare change in the RMHC Donation boxes at participating McDonalds! These donations have made a monumental impact for the families in need of a comforting place during a stressful time. In 2014, the McDonalds customers donated nearly $54 million to Ronald McDonald Houses. These funds help make the Ronald McDonald House a home for families who have children being treated in local hospitals. Your small change can make a big difference!
Tune into B105.7 for our Fall Web-a-thon!

B105.7 and Ronald McDonald House of Indiana have once again partnered for the "BCause We Care" web-a-thon. During the week of Oct. 12, B105.7 listeners will learn more about our mission and ways to help the Ronald McDonald House of Indiana. Be sure to tune in Oct. 14-16 to hear how you can be a part of this special on-air event with Sean Copeland, Ann Richards and Bernie Eagan!
Register your Kroger Card with Kroger Community Rewards

Many of us already have a Kroger Rewards card - we buy groceries, swipe the card, and receive fuel points and discounts on purchases. Well, now you can also help our guest families just by continuing to do what you've always done. Simply go to
Kroger Community Rewards and register your account, selecting Ronald McDonald House of Indiana as the beneficiary of your Community Rewards points. Then, shop as you always have, and Kroger will send a donation to our House based on a percentage of what you spend (and you still get all of your fuel points). A great time was had by all at the Colts vs. Jets game on 9/21! Thank you Indianapolis Colts and Anthony Castonzo for providing our families the special opportunity to attend the game from "Castonzo's Block Party".

A big thank you to our friends at the Greenwood, IN Home Depot Store #2019 for their generous donation of three gas grills for the House! Your generosity ensures that our families will continue to enjoy wonderful meals grilled out in our courtyard...Thank you!
Our friends at Tilson made a huge donation of much-needed wish list items. They held a company donation drive where the winners got to wear jeans and drop off the donations to the House. It took three full truckloads just to get it all here! Thank you, Tilson, for your thoughtfulness and generosity!

Another wonderful Lilly Global Day of Service in the books! Our great group of 30 volunteers did everything from preparing breakfast and planting hostas, to assembling going home bags and delivering beds that were donated by Tempur-Pedic. Thank You!
