Happy New Year to all! The year has already been quite eventful. The current class had their first program day of 2015, accompanied by a police escort for the day, no less. A BIG thank you to our sponsor for Law Enforcement Day, Fred Lay, President of Construction Services, Inc., and to our program chair Nancy Newkirk, Humana, and her committee including DeDe Grundel, Greg McLaughlin, Dan Madine, and Diana Zubrowski. This group really took the day to a new level.  

 

I am also happy to share a big personal announcement with my LTB friends. After much consideration, I decided in late 2014 to make a major career move. As of last week, I officially started with McGladrey LLP, as director of the Tampa office. My new contact information is below. This is a huge opportunity, and I couldn't be more excited about what it means for my career and for LTB. 

 

There are so many great things coming up. Our Education day, Pasco/Growth, Ports/Transportation and Tallahassee will be upon us very soon.

Leadership Tampa Bay was the top selected leadership program in the Tampa Bay Business Journal's Best in the Biz Awards for the favorite business leads group and favorite networking organization categories. Speaker Series
 

Leadership Pinellas has extended an invitation to Leadership Tampa Bay Alumni to attend their 4th Annual Speaker Series, titled "Leadership in Action." Speakers are Chief Anthony "Tony" Holloway, St. Petersburg Police, and Derrick Brooks, NFL Hall of Fame Recipient and Community Champion. They will be discussing Leadership Challenges of New Beginnings.

 

The event will be held Wednesday, January 21, 2015 in the Margarete Heye Great Room at Ruth Eckerd Hall-1111 McMullen Booth Road, Clearwater, FL.

Congratulations to the companies recognized on the Tampa Bay 100 List. LTB is proud to have graduates from ARMA Global, AVI, Carlton Fields Jorden Burt, Checkers, Hennessy Construction, Kimmins Contracting Corp, LazyDays, Pepin Distributing, Publix and USAmeriBancorp among the alumni family.

 

Diana Zubrowski ('06), accepted a new position with Mass Mutual as Non Profit Practice Leader.

 

Scott Silverman ('12), Partner, Akerman LLP, was named to The Best Lawyers in America 2015 list for Employment Law - Management, Labor Law - Management, and Litigation - Labor & Employment.
