YOUR SUMMER IS GOING TO ROCK!
The School of Rock / Bedford staff is excited to announce the themes for our signature Rock Performance Program and Adult Program for the Summer 2015 season! With two kids show themes and one adult theme for this session, we have the right program to get any student rocking on a local stage by the beginning of the school year. We are now enrolling students age 7-18 and adults 21+ on guitar, bass, drums, keyboards, and vocals!!!

In our ROCK PERFORMANCE PROGRAM and ADULT PROGRAM, students get the chance to take a weekly 45-minute private lesson with a rock star on our staff, attend a weekly group rehearsal session with other student musicians, and get ready to perform season-ending shows! Our program gives students the chance to rock on stage and in life and is the nation's leader in after school music education.

HOW TO SIGN UP FOR THE GIG!
Not currently enrolled at School of Rock? Shoot us an email at Bedford@SchoolofRock.com or call us at 914.234.0418 to get more info and to get started!

Currently enrolled and want to sign up for a Summer show? Students need parent and staff approval to sign up for ANY of our performance programs. Every show is designed to challenge different elements of a student's musicianship, and individual student curriculum will be accommodated on the appropriate show. Remember, at School of Rock we put on shows to teach music, so students must consult with their private instructor before making a show choice!

Guitar Gods on Saturday from 2-5 PM
REHEARSES: Tuesday nights starting June 9, 2015 from 5:00 - 8:00 PM. Performs in September 2015

ABOUT: Guitar Gods brings rock history's greatest guitarists together to create an epic set list that spans almost 70 years. Whether you're looking for the blues, rockabilly, Southern Rock, classic rock epics, hard rock, or metal, you'll find it all here. Looking to work on your chops? This is the show for you!

Greats on this list include Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Randy Rhodes, Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck, Duane Allman, Eddie Van Halen, Carlos Santana, and others in both their solo careers and the bands that made them legendary.

While this show is specifically designed to highlight guitar players, these artists would not have risen to the top without their bands! This show NEEDS bassists, keyboard players, drummers, and vocalists that are dedicated to make this epic show all that it can be.

Rehearses Wednesday nights starting June 10, 2015 from 5:00 - 8:00 PM. Performs in September 2015 .

ABOUT: Both FUNK AND SOUL are feel-good genres of music that rose to prominence in 1950s and 1960s America. Growing out of gospel and r&b, soul emphasized funky rhythms, tense and virtuous vocals, hand claps, and call-and response band interaction. And right behind it came rhythmic and danceable funk that took the emphasis off melody and harmony, bringing the rhythm section to the front in complex, interlocking rhythms.

The artists that make up this playlist are the forerunners of these genres, and have set the stage for the development of rock, popular, and dance music since. Play songs from funk and soul legends James Brown, Aretha Franklin, Sly & the Family Stone, Otis Redding, Ray Charles, Wilson Pickett, The Isley Brothers, and many more!

This show is no joke for any developing musician! With intricate rhythms all over the board, enthusiastic and iconic vocals to reproduce, and tight band arrangements to hone, this is a project that will keep any student busy for the Summer season.

Rehearses Wednesday nights starting June 24, 2015 from 8:30 - 10:30 PM. Performs in September.

ABOUT: This Adult Program is all about paying tribute to the three days of peace and music held in Woodstock, NY in the Summer of 1969. We're offering any adult the opportunity to join up with WOODSTOCK to play some of the most influential, timeless, and iconic music of the 1960s and hit the stage by the start of the Fall.

There's so much to cover in this set list and we can challenge a student of any ability level! Whether you're just picking up an instrument, coming back to music after a break, or you play daily, there's music here for you. The potential list of artists can include: Grateful Dead, Jefferson Airplane, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, The Band, The Who, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Santana and the list keeps on going. We'll make sure your favorites make it on to this set list!

Whether you're a guitar player looking to perfect iconic sounds and solos, a vocalist looking for a fun and diverse set list, a keyboard player that wants to reproduce authentic piano and organ textures, or a bassist or drummer that wants to rock, WE HAVE YOU COVERED! Get in touch to enroll today.
