SPOKES IN THE OAKS

Mark Your Calendars for "Spokes in the Oaks!" Residents are invited to walk, bike, run, skate, push strollers, etc. at the City's first annual open streets event on Saturday, October 31 from 10 am to 3 pm. The event will extend along a 1.7-mile route from the intersection of Hampshire and Townsgate roads to the intersection of Agoura Road and Village Glen. There will be activities and entertainment for all ages, including trick or treating for Halloween. 

   


PUBLIC MEETING ON WESTLAKE BOULEVARD 
 
The City of Thousand Oaks is hosting a community meeting on October 7 at Westlake Elementary School to discuss the upcoming Westlake Boulevard Sidewalk Project. City staff along with the project design team will be present responding to questions and comments regarding the upcoming enhanced safety construction project.

US 101/SR-23 PROJECT UPDATE

In October work will continue on Hampshire, Conejo School, and Moorpark Road undercrossing. Weeknight closures Moorpark Road undercrossing at 101 are scheduled to continue for the next several weeks.

In the evening on October 1st, a full closure of Southbound 23 & Southbound 101 connector is scheduled from 7 pm to 6 am , which will improve traffic flow at the merge point of the two freeways.

THE GREAT CALIFORNIA SHAKEOUT

Mark your calendar for Thursday, October 15 at 10:15 am for the Great California ShakeOut . This annual event simulates a earthquake and provides everyone an opportunity to review plans and preparations for an actual earthquake.

In addition to the October 15 event, please consider enrolling in the City's Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Program, which is offered countywide. THOUSAND OAKS READS

  
T housand Oaks Reads - One City, One Book is a citywide literary event encouraging community members to read and discuss the same book. Our 2015 selection is The Book of Unknown Americans by Cristina Henriquez. Her novel centers on the experiences of the men, women, and children who immigrate to the United States from Mexico and Latin America. Bring the family to enjoy a celebration of Mexican culture in music and dance on October 4 from 2 pm to 3 pm.  

10X10 - FUTURE OF CONEJO & LAS VIRGENES REGION

Join Conejo/Las Virgenes Future Foundation for 10x10! 10 guest speakers will each give a 10 minute talk on the future of the Conejo / Las Virgenes Region.
