In addition to a delicious lunch and quality networking time, the program will include the presentation of the Chamber's Annual Awards.  Plus, guest speaker Detective Ashley LaValle from the Forest Lake Police Department - "Crime Prevention is Everyone's Business."

Do you dread speaking in public?  You're not alone!  Fear of public speaking is one of the most common causes of distress in the workplace.  Conquering that fear can be painless - and even enjoyable (really)!

Build your public speaking skills and confidence through Speechcraft, a six week workshop series, presented by the Forest Lake Area Chamber and Forest Lake Toastmasters.

We'll cover the fundamentals of public speaking in a relaxed setting - designed to help you not only get rid of the butterflies in your stomach, but to have them flying in formation!

Don't miss this opportunity to conquer your fears and improve your public speaking, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.

Black Tie & Blue Jeans - TONIGHT
Lakes Area Youth Service Bureau's annual Black Tie & Blue Jeans fundraising event will be held TONIGHT (Friday, October 2), starting at 6:00pm at Vannelli's by the Lake (55 South Lake Street, Forest Lake.

  
ESR Carnival of Hope - TONIGHT
ESR is hosting their Carnival of Hope fundraiser on Friday, October 2nd on the Majestic Star, a 100-foot luxury yacht sailing on the St. Croix River. Proceeds will benefit ESR's work supporting adults with disabilities as they attain employment goals, learn to live more independently, and achieve their personal best.  Tickets $60 available by clicking here or calling Vicki Nelson at (651) 351-0190 x 11.
 
Nightmare Hallow Scream Park Opens - TONIGHT
Nightmare Hallow Scream Park (15201 Zurich Street, Columbus) opens for the spooky season on Friday, October 2nd from 7-11pm.  Click here for opening hours, special events, or to purchase tickets!
 
Oktoberfest at the Legion - FRIDAY & SATURDAY
The Forest Lake American Legion Post # 225 (355 West Broadway Avenue, Forest Lake) is hosting Oktoberfest this weekend, featuring great Oktoberfest beers and food, fun, music, and prizes.  Bingo fundraiser for Masquer's Theatre Company Friday from 6-9pm.

Join North Lakes Insurance at the Harvest Howl - SATURDAY
North Lakes Insurance Agency will be hosting a booth at the Harvest Howl event at the Wildlife Science Center (5463 West Broadway Avenue, Columbus) on Saturday, October 3rd.  Because North Lakes Insurance supports wildlife education and the work of the Wildlife Science Center, the agency is offering "Quote for a Cause" - donating $20 to the Center for every household that receives an insurance quote from the agency from the Harvest Howl Event. 
 
LAYSB Annual Fall Turkey Dinner - SATURDAY
Join Lakes Area Youth Service Bureau for their Annual Fall Turkey Dinner on Saturday, October 3rd from 4-7pm at Wyoming United Methodist Church (5459 East Viking Boulevard, Wyoming).  All are welcome - bring the whole family!  Cost:  free-will donations.

Pancake/French Toast Breakfast at VFW - SUNDAY
Join the Forest Lake VFW Post # 4210 (556 SW 12th Street, Forest Lake) for a Pancake/French Toast Breakfast.  Sunday, October 4 from 9am-noon.  $4.50 adults/$3.50 kids.
  
Conceal & Carry Class - SUNDAY
The Forest Lake VFW Post # 4210 is hosting a conceal & carry class on Sunday, October 4th from noon-4pm.  $65, including range.  Sign up at the bar or call Bryan Lee at (651) 592-6519.
 
Rotary Visitors Day - October 14
The Forest Lake Rotary Club invites you to join them for Visitor's Day on Wednesday, October 14th at noon at Vannelli's by the Lake (55 South Lake Street, Forest Lake).  Be their guest for a delicious lunch and to learn more about Rotary, a 110 year organization.  Hear the reasons why so many professionals and community leaders are active Rotarians.
