JUNE, 2015
Dear Friends,

We are pleased to be sending you our summer edition of "The Contributor," our electronic newsletter.  Stories in this issue highlight some of the activities that have been going on at the Beatrice Community Hospital Foundation the past few months.

The key ingredients to any story are the people who make things happen.  At the BCH Foundation, we are blessed to have an active and fully engaged board of directors, hospital and clinic employees who believe in the work they do, and wonderful individuals like you who, through their generous and regular support, continue to "intensify the impact" Beatrice Community Hospital and Health Center has on wellness and healthcare in our local community.

Thank you for being a "contributor" and an important partner in our efforts!  Enjoy reading about all the good things that have been happening.

Gratefully,

Sam Rennick
Intensifying the Impact
Centurian Cup Challenge Golf Tournament
Originally scheduled for May 8, the Centurian Cup Challenge golf tournament has been rescheduled to Friday, June 12 at the Beatrice Country Club.  All proceeds from the third annual tournament sponsored by the BCH Foundation will be used to support the recently created Advanced Illness Management program at the hospital.

Great Care - Grateful Hearts Recipients Honored at the Centurian Dinner
The Centurian Dinner, an annual gathering to recognize and thank supporters of the BCH Foundation, was held on Thursday, April 30 at the Beatrice Holiday Inn Express Conference Center.  Over 150 people attended and were treated to a wonderful meal provided by Colleen's Catering.

A highlight of the evening was a presentation of "Great Care - Grateful Hearts" pins to nurses Brittney Kotas and Linsey Freitag, by Carol Klaus.  Carol spoke about the wonderful care of her mother, Doris Porter, received while a patient at the hospital and wanted to especially recognize Brittney and Linsey.   Visit this webpage!
Centurian Forever Endowment Launched!
Attendees at the Centurian Dinner on April 30 were introduced to a new legacy giving opportunity recently launched by the BCH Foundation, the Centurian Forever Endowment.  Individuals and couples are encouraged to make arrangements for future gifts to the Foundation of $2,500 or more.  These gifts, once received, will be placed into a permanent endowment with annual earnings used to support the Foundation.  A $2,500 gift is expected to generate $100 of annual income making the donor(s) a Centurian Forever.   Visit this webpage!
Foundation supports the Beatrice Law Enforcement Youth Explorers
A grant provided by the BCH Foundation has allowed Beatrice Police Law Enforcement Youth Explorers to receive CPR training.
Hospice Tree of Life Giving
The annual Tree of Life campaign was held this past spring with over 155 individuals, couples and organizations choosing to remember a loved one no longer with us.  As a result, $5,620 was raised to support the hospital's Hospice program.

Many thanks to all those who donated funds as well as special thanks to the volunteers who assisted with putting "Angel Leaf" cards on the Hospice tree.  For those interested in viewing it, the Tree of Life  is now located in the Chapel area, just off the main lobby of the hospital.   Visit this webpage!
