In my recent meetings on the Hill, compassion and support poured following the barbaric twin suicide terror attack that killed 97 Turkish citizens in the nation's capital, Ankara. Members of Congress and their staffers drew an analogy with Turkey's qualification to the European Championships in France, condoling me that Turkey shall overcome and finish strong.

Prof. Aziz Sancar
MD, PhD, Biochemistry and Biophysics, UNC-Chapel Hill, Cancer Genetics
Dr. Aziz Sancar is Sarah Graham Kenan Professor of Biochemistry and Biophysics at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine.
He was born in Savur-Mardin, Turkey in 1946. He obtained his primary andsecondary education in Savur and Mardin and received an M.D. degree in 1969 from Istanbul University School of Medicine.
