"JESUS HAS A PLACE FOR YOU AT GRACE!"

For the very first time, October is Outreach Month here at Grace! Throughout this month, the YAMFAM will be leading the church as we collectively go out into the streets, in a non-traditional way, to bring more souls to Christ.

This is a crucial undertaking and we encourage all ministry leaders to galvanize your members to help us in this effort. We will be hitting the streets, and informing people about the great things going on at Grace.

This Saturday, October 3, we will be hitting our first target area--The Heights in Mt Vernon. Please meet us at Grace at 11:00am.

If you have any questions, contact YAMFAM at  [email protected]. We look forward to seeing you this Saturday!

Meditation Moment

Faith and Prayer

Scriptural reference:   Romans 4:16-24 NIV, Focus Verse - Romans 4:20

"Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised."

Faith is a function of the heart and grounded in your experience of God. Faith believes that God is in charge and can bring you over any obstacle and through any trial or circumstance. If you want to build up your faith, meditate on God's word.  Spending time in the Word of God empowers and equips us with the strength to try again in the face of adversity. It is upon His Word that we stand, praying, as we wait in faith, trusting God to bring our vision into alignment with His purpose and to the place of victory.  Be persistent about your prayer life and spend quiet time just being in the presence of God.   God wants a relationship with you and it's important that you get connected with Him .   He can revive your spirit and ignite your hope afresh in His presence.  We are covered by the promise of His eternal presence.  Pray, believing that God is already there in the midst of your circumstance and take comfort in the knowledge that God is in charge and has the power to do what He has promised.

Words From Our Pastor
My Loved Ones,

Thursday, October 1, began the  Season of Men .  I am asking all of the men of Grace to make a conscious effort and commitment to participate in the activities planned for the month.  During this season, we are praying to re-ignite the flame of ministry and fellowship in the men of Grace that will cause an explosion during October impacting the life of Grace and the Men's Ministry.  Let us come together and embrace the present, which is pregnant with possibilities for ministry while we build for the future.

Moreover, during the month of October, the Young Adult Ministry will be leading the entire church in a Membership Outreach Campaign ("Jesus has a place for you at Grace"), as we seek to increase our membership and introduce Grace to a broader and diverse community.  The Young Adult Ministry is seeking volunteers to help distribute literature, canvass targeted neighborhoods, malls and train stations.  It is a great opportunity for ministries to get involved in our outreach initiative.  There is a place for each of us in our Outreach Campaign.  During October, I am asking every member to invite and bring five new people to worship service.  Your participation will make a significant contribution toward our outreach goals.

Last week, we held our "Week of Prayer" activities.  We are preparing ourselves in prayer for the launching of our 90-Day Countdown to Construction Campaign.  During this ninety-day period, we will come together, praying, pledging and giving as we approach the groundbreaking and building phases of our arduous journey of faith, to God's glory.

This Sunday will begin our Week in the Spirit, Sunday, October 4 through Tuesday, October 6.  Our Revival preachers will be Dr. Howard John Wesley and Dr. Marcus D. Cosby.  Our Revival offering this year is $40.  There will be special Revival envelopes in the bulletin on Sunday as your offerings and gifts facilitate the Lord's work.  To God be the glory.

L ove,
Pastor
Have a blessed weekend!

Sincerely,
Grace Baptist Church
