South Stadium preparing for spring debut
Following months of reconstruction the new South Stadium will begin hosting spring high school sporting events in early May. The stadium isn't just for sporting events. It is available for the community to use for any special activity.  The new features at South Stadium include: new bleachers for up to 2,500 people as well as two buildings to house ticket booths, bathrooms and concession stands.   Read more .

Message from the Superintendent

We have just wrapped up our series of listening sessions where the community had several opportunities to provide input on our strategic objectives to improve student achievement. Thank you to all who turned out for these important sessions. 

 

However, we continue to be concerned that some of our recent successes could be jeopardized because of proposed state and federal funding cuts. Preserving public school funding at current levels remains a priority.  Read more.

    Benefits seen from extra help for students at Commitment Schools

    City Year Milwaukee Corps member Youhi Ghouse helps George Washington Carver 4th grade student Timara Portis Lowe strengthen her reading skills. The Commitment Schools initiative, which provides more resources as well as academic and behavioral interventions in MPS schools where students struggle with reading and math proficiency, is beginning to show results. Read more.
