FUNDRAISER A SUCCESS!! THANKS TO ALL VOLUNTEERS.
Thank you International School for the wonderful site for our T-shirt fundraiser.  Neighborhood volunteers helped with the crowds, wrote receipts, worked the pay pal, and loaded and unloaded chairs and tables.  We loved the coffee donated by Raging Sage and  sold by the kids to fund their New York trip!
Two neighborhoods collaborated with Sabaku T-shirts for the fundraiser.  Proceeds benefited Old Ft Lowell's  "Live at Home Program", and the Jefferson Park Neighborhood's projects. We thank the generous people at Sabaku Wearable art.

UNRULY GATHERINGS MAY BE SAFETY ISSUE
Description of procedures for reporting an unruly gathering"Kids will be kids" or an unruly gathering?
We are a neighborhood which  includes  students.  A mixed blessing some say. The ordinance definition of an unruly gatherings is quite clear... "a gathering of five (5) or more persons on any private property (including property used to conduct business) in a manner which causes a disturbance of the quiet enjoyment of private or public property by any person or persons."  This can be any time of day.  A report from NAU makes these type of parties more and more a safety issue.  Underage drinking, many cars, public intoxication, screaming etc. are red flags!  Often the number at the party gets out of hand and the residents can't control the crowd.  Neighbors reporting loud parties may be saving a life. Read and/or print the procedures agreed upon by the Tucson Police for when and how to report   here.
Statistics from the Crime Incident Listing on the neighsupport.net web-site, show that in a 30 day period (Sept 27 to Oct 27 )  six loud parties in the Jefferson Park Neighborhood were reported and police responded.                                                                J. Daniels
Jefferson Park Neighborhood Assn Seeking Board Members
Your help is needed! Offer to join the board .  Areas 1 and 2 have no representation on the board at this time.  Offer to be a "board member at large".

How much time will it take, you wonder?  There's a monthly meeting.  Agenda and reports sent out by e-mail ahead and one must read them.  You might volunteer at, or plan, one of the events. You might learn about the land use codes and city ordinances. You might volunteer to help with the web-site.  You might walk flyers to your area. You might help plan a Jefferson Park bike/walk Loop.

Because of the JPNA Board, Friends of Jefferson Park, Inc, neighborhood volunteers and donors, Jefferson Park Neighborhood now has:
Historic Status; a web-site; an e-news; a Neighborhood Preservation Zone; Water Harvesting on Vine; Street Signs indicating the Historic District; no commercial zoning on the north boundary; an agreement with Banner health that  mitigates water run-off, light, noise; commitments from the city and Banner to fund the consultant to redistrict the Historic boundaries to guard the Historic status....and so much more.

Want to talk about the possibility?  Call Suzanne Trappman at 740-0757 or e-mail Suzanne or Joan D or Joanne.

WARNING FROM MIDTOWN POLICE DIVISION:  The data represented on the graph represents just Midtown. The yellow line  represents larcenies from a motor vehicle. So, items were taken from inside the vehicle.   The red line represents theft of vehicle parts and accessories. So, that means parts of the vehicle were taken.

" I want to remind everyone to avoid leaving anything of value in your vehicle and also to make sure that your vehicle is locked. Many of the people who commit these crimes don't bother with smashing windows. They will just check doors as they walk down the street to see what vehicles are unlocked...Don't leave your holiday shopping in the car and make sure you lock your vehicle when you arrive at your destination."
