Tomorrow is the first Wednesday of the month, so a test of Westlake's new outdoor warning sirens will take place at 1 p.m. They are located at Davis Blvd. and Dove Road, Ottinger Road at Westlake Academy, and on Roanoke Road near TD Auto Finance.

Regular monthly testing was set to begin the first Wednesday in April but due to inclement weather, the test was cancelled. Going forward, testing of our warning sirens will continue every month on the first Wednesday at 1 p.m. and just like last month, will not be conducted during periods of severe weather threats. 

Outdoor warning sirens may be activated for more than reported tornadoes in the area. They may be activated for d estructive winds in excess of 70 mph (or higher), and reported hail of 1.25” in diameter or greater.
