Greetings and blessings to you.  I hope everyone is staying warm! First, a thank you for all your prayers for our dear David Carr who is improving and getting stronger each day!  In his absence, we'd like to share with you details of upcoming events, in particular the 22nd Annual Bishop's Pro-Life Dinner on April 18.

The theme of this year's dinner is "Every Life is a Masterpiece", echoing the words of our Holy Father Pope Francis which were adopted by the U.S. Bishops as the Respect Life theme for 2014-15.  And we are so excited to welcome this year's featured guests: award-winning singer Kathy Troccoliwho will share a musical performance, and Catholic Answers Live host Patrick Coffin, who will serve as emcee.

By now you all should have received a packet of promotional materials for the dinner via email, as well as posters and yard signs at the Parish Pro-Life Coordinators Meeting (remaining posters and signs are being delivered to your parishes).  Below are links to electronic copies of these materials:

In addition to the promotional items above, our 2015 Honorary Chairs for the Bishop's Pro-Life Dinner, Mike and Barbara Weller, are featured in a new video available here.  Please feel free to share the video -- and don't miss the adorable message from their two adopted sons at the end!

As we prepare for the big event, we cannot forget two important opportunities to support a Culture of Life.  First, on March 24, the Texas Bishops and thousands of Texas Catholics will advocate for the values of life, justice, charity, and religious freedom at Catholic Faith in Action Advocacy Day in Austin.  In recognition of the 125th anniversary of our diocese, Bishop Farrell hopes at least 125 people will join Bishop Deshotel in Austin for Advocacy Day.  More information and registration for Advocacy Day and the March 18 legislative briefing may be found at cathdal.org/advocacyday.  I hope you and your fellow parishioners can join us on this important day in Austin!

Second, this time of year presents a wonderful opportunity to prayerfully experience Lent and unite our sufferings, and the sufferings of those injured by abortion, to Christ at the Good Friday Pro-Life Stations of the Cross on April 3 from 12 noon to 1 p.m. outside the Southwestern abortion facility at Greenville and Royal.  Additionally, McKinney 40 Days for Life is sponsoring a 7 am. to 7 p.m. prayer vigil outside the McKinney Planned Parenthood throughout Lent.

Please also mark your calendars for the following events in March:

And please save the date for the first Quarterly Mass, Eucharistic Adoration and Rosary Procession of the year on April 25 beginning with 8 a.m. Mass at St. Pius X followed by the procession to the Southwestern abortion facility.

I hope you experience a blessed Lent as we prepare to celebrate our Savior's Resurrection.  May God's blessings be upon you, as you live your Parish Pro-Life Coordinator commitment to saving God's precious babies, helping their mothers, and building a culture that respects all life, from conception to natural death!

And please continue to keep David in your prayers.  Please feel free to contact me directly with any needs you might have while he is temporarily away.

Blessings,

P.S.   Many of you may have received a request via email concerning the retrieval of Roe Memorial yard signs from your parish.  If you haven't already, we would greatly appreciate if you could check with your parish office about whether it has these signs, and if so, retrieve them so we might reuse them next year.  Signs may be returned at the next Parish Pro-Life Coordinators Meeting on May 9 or to the CPLC office at 14200 Midway Rd Suite 120, Dallas 75244.   Thank you!
