JUNE 2015

A MESSAGE FROM NORTH ISLAND SNOWDRIFTER PRESIDENT

Dave Arnold

It looks like Mammoth has finally shut down its skiing operations for the year. I think we were all surprised they made it to Memorial Day this year. We all appreciated the big surprise of over two feet of snow that fell in May. The season was full of surprises. Maybe we have started to turn the corner and the end of the drought is near.

Planning of the 2016 trips to Mammoth and the fly-away are well underway. We know that you will be happy with our selection this year, but I will leave the location as a surprise for the club's June meeting.

I was very pleased with the turnout at the May club meeting. If I did not know better I would have thought it was the October signup meeting. I hope to see an equal number of people at the June meeting which will be the last meeting at Tio Leo's for this season. Come socialize and tell your friends about your Memorial weekend and get the scoop on our 2016 fly-away trip.

As usual I need to take care of some club business. As you have heard before we are still looking for a new Vice President and Newsletter Editor. I know that you look at these jobs and think that they are a lot of work, but as with all things in life the more you put in to something the more satisfaction you get out of it. So take a chance and call one of the board members to see about filling either of these positions or attend our next Board of Directors Meeting at 6 p.m. on June, 30, 2015 at Giovanni's Restaurant, 9353 Claremont Mesa Blvd, San Diego, CA and see the board in action so you can decide if you want to join the board in making NI Snowdrifters a great club! You may find out that it brings you great joy planning events and trips for the club, and satisfaction at the end of a season to know you were part of the planning. It will certainly be appreciated by the club members.

Until next month make the best of every day, have fun, remember that you are the heart and soul of this club, and your participation is what makes it all possible.

Next Club Meeting is at 6:00 PM on June 9th at Tio Leo's at 5302 Napa Street, San Diego, CA 92110.
