Voorhees holds High School Visitation Day


Voorhees College will host High School Visitation Day on Friday, March 27 in the Leonard E. Dawson Health and Human Resources Center with registration beginning at 8:30 a.m. Activities taking place throughout the event include an academic fair, parent/counselor informational session, student organization showcase, campus tours, financial aid/cost informational session and the introductions of various members of the Voorhees family.

This event is free and open to the public. For additional information on the event, call Voorhees toll free at 1-866-865-9904 or at 803-780-1030. Please register online by March 20 by visiting

Voorhees students attend UNCF national conference

Ten Voorhees students recently attended UNCF National Alumni and Pre-Alumni Leadership Conference in Charlotte, N.C. Feb. 19-22.

While at the conference, students participated in various workshops on topics including leadership, public speaking, philanthropy and career readiness.

Voorhees' Brown named Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Player of the Week

The Gulf Coast Athletic Conference (GCAC) recently named Voorhees player Jerrod Brown the Player of the Week for the week of Feb. 15-21.

Brown averaged 23 points and 9.3 rebounds in three games for the Tigers. The 6'5 junior is from Houma, La. and is majoring in sports management.

February Alumni Highlight

The January 2015 alumni highlight is Darryl Johnson, who is a senior systems engineer for the U.S. Senate in Washington, DC.

Johnson received a bachelor's degree from Voorhees College before becoming the managing IT director at Principal Health Care and later at HealthScribe, Inc., the second largest medical transcription company in the United States.
