Thank You, Milford Lowe's!
A big thank you goes out to Lowe's for donating their time and the materials to transform our Preschool building. A special shout out to Mr. Fausto Fuentes, Milford Lowe's store manager, for his efforts to make this happen!
To create a better curb appeal, Lowe's workers added new and improved landscaping and a fresh coat of paint on the support beams, doors, and parking lot lines. They also updated a classroom where we hold parent meetings by ripping out and replacing the old carpet and painting the walls and cabinets.
Lowe's also had their staff water-proof and paint one of our classroom walls. And, last but not least, they donated a new sink to the Extended Day restroom and plan to donate new cabinets in the preschool office.
Our district is so fortunate to have Lowe's  as a partner in education!

Photography Students Celebrate Beauty and Diversity in Student Body
Don't Miss the Exhibit on November 5!
Milford High School photography students and students in the multiple disabilities classes are inviting the community to a collaborative art exhibition of portrait photography. Students are collaborating to create portraits that celebrate the beauty, abilities, and diversity of the Milford student body. All students will also be creating portraits and short biographies about the partner they photograph.

A public celebration of this important work will be held on Thursday, November 5, from 6:30-8:00 p.m. at the Oasis Conference Center in Loveland.

This project is possible because of generous donations from Milford Schools Foundation and The Oasis Conference Center. Special thanks to all the teachers involved: Lottie Bernard, Jerry Comello, Trena Panko, Janelle Schunk, and Leah Sears.

It is the second year for this portrait project and a moving example of our students celebrating the best in each other and making connections that are life-changing for all involved.

Calling All Veterans...

Milford School District will continue its tradition of honoring veterans at its November Board of Education meeting. The Board will award high school diplomas to veterans who did not earn a diploma because their education was interrupted to serve their country in times of war.  If you are a veteran or know of a veteran, who did not earn his or her diploma because of being in the armed service, please contact the Milford Board of Education Office at (513) 831-1314 by Friday, November 13.

In addition to presenting diplomas, all area veterans are invited to come to the November Board meeting and they will be recognized for their service at the beginning of the meeting. If they choose to, veterans are welcome to come in uniform. There will be a short program with patriotic music and a presentation of certificates. The Board meets on Thursday, November 19, 2015 at Meadowview Elementary, at 7 p.m. Veterans who will be attending for the recognition are encouraged to RSVP to Terry Kruszynski via email at kruszynski_t@milfordschools.org or by calling (513) 831-1314.

CCESC Program Moves From Milford Main to Preschool Building
Milford School District welcomes Clermont County Educational Service Center's, CEC North, which operates both a medically intense Multiple Disabilities program and an Autism program, to the Milford Preschool Building on Route 28.  Over the summer, the program moved to the Preschool from Milford Main where it had been housed for the past several years.

The CCESC program now occupies the second floor of the preschool building. The ESC runs two different programs at our site for school age children from kindergarten through 12th grades.  The first program is designed for children who are on the autism spectrum. Currently, there are seven classrooms for kids with autism. The second program is for children who have intensive medical needs. A classroom for the medically fragile students is located on the first floor.
