The Christmas Parade will be held Friday, December 4th beginning at 5:30 at the Pierce County Recreation Department and will follow the normal route (in reverse) through downtown and end behind the Board of Education/Library area on College Avenue.
The Main Street Program's Christmas in the Park/Sounds of the Season festival will take place in the Blackshear City Park immediately following the parade. Stay and enjoy food, games, photo ops, and entertainment!
This year's parade will feature a Float Competition with CASH PRIZES! We are looking for quality floats highlighting the theme "The Candy Cane Express". The competing floats must demonstrate the theme and incorporate lots of color and lights. All parade competition entries will be judged by qualified, out-of-town judges.
Prizes Include:
"Best Use of Theme" Award - $100 ** "Best Use of Lights" Award - $100 ** "Spirit of Christmas" Award - $100
All businesses, community organizations, churches, and schools are encouraged to enter a float for competition. The absolute entry deadline is Monday, November 30 at 12:00 noon.
