James Lee, 2016 Mission Presbytery Moderator, and Liz Anzaldua, PPAS Class of 1969, and 2015 Mission Presbytery Moderator
|
The 150 churches of Mission Presbytery met on campus October 23-24 to do the mission of the larger church together. The current Moderator of Mission Presbytery is former Pan Am student, Liz Anzaldua '69, of Corpus Christi. The event was held in our almost-complete student center, and our choir, praise team and drama team participated in the worship service. We were honored to host this event and provide opportunities for our guests to interact with our students.

Boys' Soccer Season Concludes
Our boys' soccer team had a great season. The boys came up just one goal short in a heart-breaking loss to McAllen South Texas Christian Academy in the semi-final round of the TAPPS State playoffs on October 20. The Eagles began their playoff journey by defeating Austin Waldorf 10-0 on October 12 and then were victorious over San Antonio Keystone Academy in the quarter-final round on October 17, winning that game in double-overtime.
With only 4 seniors and a large number of freshmen and sophomores on the roster, the team is poised for an even stronger season next year. Also, six of our boys were selected to the All-District First Team. Sophomore Edgar Chaidez was named #1 forward and junior Missael Lara was named #1 midfielder.
We are so proud of the hard work these boys put in all season!
