This year in Newsline we are exploring the District's journey to reinvent American education. Our goal will be to share the big picture of why we've taken on this ambitious effort.

Last week we began  A Case for Change by explaining why education must adapt to meet the needs of our students in this ever-changing world. We also discussed the  progress made towards our Strategic Plan over the past five yearsOver the next six months, we hope to bring clarity regarding our work to build a modern curriculum, sustainable and personalized learning and balanced assessment for our students, as well as high-quality evaluation system and professional development for our teachers and leaders.

New ThunderRidge High School Baseball Training Facility honors former student athletes

There were tears and hugs as more than 400 people gathered on a bright and sunny August day to remember and celebrate the lives of three promising student athletes. They were at ThunderRidge High School's new baseball training facility to dedicate it  in memory of Cammy and Kyle DeWolfe and Kyle Blakeman.  Read more
 


Get Involved: Participate in Your SAC and DAC

At the start of each school year, many parents are looking for opportunities to get involved in their school community. Two opportunities can be found in your School Accountability Committee (SAC) and the District Accountability Committee (DAC). These committees represent the local control of each school in the District and are required by Colorado state law. Read more

Mountain Vista and Rock Canyon high schools are named to Newsweek magazine's top 500 high schools in the country list.  Read more


Imagine college credit at a fraction of the cost. That's what a state program is able to do for high school aged kids all over Colorado who take certain courses. In Douglas County, it's saving parents millions per year.
Two Cimarron Middle School teachers had a summer vacation that was out of this world.

Buffalo Ridge welcomes a new principal
A new school year always brings changes and excitement, and the halls of Buffalo Ridge Elementary school are no exception.
