This year in Newsline we are exploring the District's journey to reinvent American education. Our goal will be to share the big picture of why we've taken on this ambitious effort.
Last week we began
A Case for Change by explaining why education must adapt to meet the needs of our students in this ever-changing world. We also discussed the
progress made towards our Strategic Plan over the past five years.
Over the next six months, we hope to bring clarity regarding our work to build a modern curriculum, sustainable and personalized learning and balanced assessment for our students, as well as high-quality evaluation system and professional development for our teachers and leaders.

New ThunderRidge High School Baseball Training Facility honors former student athletes
There were tears and hugs as more than 400 people gathered on a bright and sunny August day to remember and celebrate the lives of three promising student athletes. Get Involved: Participate in Your SAC and DAC
At the start of each school year, many parents are looking for opportunities to get involved in their school community. Two opportunities can be found in your School Accountability Committee (SAC) and the District Accountability Committee (DAC). These committees represent the local control of each school in the District and are required by Colorado state law. Read more

Imagine college credit at a fraction of the cost. That's what a state program is able to do for high school aged kids all over Colorado who take certain courses. In Douglas County, it's saving parents millions per year.
