December 3, 2014

In this season of prayerful anticipation of the celebration of Our Lord's arrival as an infant child, we come to you with news mixed with joy and sadness.  On November 22, we witnessed the final day of killing at Robinson's abortion facility.  While we REJOICE that the killing has ended forever at 1929 Record Crossing, and that former killing facility will be leveled to the ground in the coming days, it is with great sadness that we have learned that abortionist Lamar Robinson has relocated, and the closed abortion facility at 8363 Meadow Rd near Greenville Ave has re-opened.  "Robinson @ Northpark" is scheduling appointments beginning tomorrow, December 4, 2014.

On December 30, a Mass for an End to Abortion will be celebrated by Fr. Paul Weinberger at 10 a.m. at St. Monica Catholic Church, followed by a Closing Memorial Service outside the former Robinson's abortion facility at 1929 Record Crossing, with the buses then taking pray-ers over to "Robinson @ Northpark" to wage immediate spiritual warfare through a Rosary Procession against the resumed killing and for conversion of hearts. We hope many can join us on this Tuesday during the holidays.  This will also give us an opportunity for communal prayer before the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals hears arguments on the merits of the ambulatory surgical center requirement of HB 2 in New Orleans the following week.

In addition to the December 30 services, please mark your calendars for:

And as we look forward to the new year, we once again need your assistance in promoting the 2015 Roe Memorial Events with Bishop Farrell on January 17, 2015.  This year's theme is "On the Road to Victory" in recognition of the many incredible advancements in the effort to build a Culture of Life in North Texas, including implementations of omnibus pro-life law HB 2 and the decrease in number of abortions statewide and nationwide.

The 2015 Roe Memorial Mass will be at 1:00 p.m. at the convention center arena in Dallas with capacity for 9,000 people!  This will be our second year at the Dallas Convention Center where everyone will be able to experience the blessings of the Mass celebrated by Bishop Kevin J. Farrell and Bishop Michael Olson together in one roomPlus, there will be a Youth Concert preceding the Mass, beginning at 12:15 p.m., featuring World Youth Day musician Curtis Stephan. The North Texas March for Life and Rally will directly follow Mass. A complete schedule of events is available here.

We are in the process of distributing Roe Memorial posters and yard signs to each parish, and Bishop Farrell's letter of invitation will be coming soon. Please ensure that your parish includes the bulletin announcement available here, shares Bishop Farrell's letter, and displays the yard signs and posters (flyer version available here in English and here in Spanish) in the weeks preceding January 17.  Please check out our web site, prolifedallas.org/roe, for event details and updates throughout this month.

As we busy ourselves with preparations this month for Christmas and the new year, it is sometimes difficult to stay focused on what we are really preparing for -- the celebration of the coming of Our Lord, and readiness for His second coming.  Also celebrated in December is the Feast of the Holy Family. The Catholic Church honors Jesus of Nazareth, his mother, the Blessed Virgin Mary, and his foster father, St. Joseph as a family. The purpose of this celebration is to present the Holy Family as a model for Christian families. At this time, let us focus on the wondrous birth of Our Savior and on the model that the Holy Family provides for us.

May you and your family have a very blessed Advent and a Merry Christmas!
