October 6, EDC Speaker
The Fall Semester EDC Speaker Series begins Tuesday, October 6 in Benson Earth Sciences Room 180 from 5pm-6:15pm. Refreshments will be provided. This event will feature three speakers:
Bernard Amadei - MCEDC - Our co-director will share about his vision for the future of the EDC program.
Andre Houssney - Zambeezi - Local organic farmer based in Boulder and involved in sustainable agriculture in Zambia.
Bruce Maj Pelz - Maji Safi Group - Founded Maji Safi Group, an organization working on clean water solutions in Tanzania.
The EDC Speaker Series will be the first Tuesday of each month.

He Named Me Malala is an intimate portrait of Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Malala Yousafzai, who was targeted by the Taliban and severely wounded by a gunshot when returning home on her school bus in Pakistan's Swat Valley. She miraculously survived and is now a leading campaigner for girls' education globally as co-founder of the Malala Fund. The film is a powerful story of choosing to participate in our changing world.
Using excerpts from the film and selections from the Journeys in Film study guide, this webinar, facilitated by Facing History and Ourselves staff, will prepare educators to bring their students to the film at one of the free educational screenings organized by the Malala Fund.
A total of $25,000 per year will be awarded to students, educators and EED members who propose interesting ways to impact environmental education in their communities. A maximum of five proposals will be funded with a maximum of $5,000 per award. Proposals are due November 1, 2015. Learn more here.
