Tosh comes home

After a whirlwind couple of weeks, our beloved teammate Tosh is now back at home at Wild! Heart Refuge, recovering well from his cancer treatment.  The photo in the center above was taken just two days after his last treatment.  From all outward appearances, he seems to have bounced back to health, returning to his happy routine of exploring the land, and inviting anyone who's willing to join in a friendly game of chase or tug-of-war.

We want to thank the wonderful team at the Animal Specialty Center in Yonkers, New York, whose warmth and compassion was evident in everything they did.  We also want to thank all of you who supported us and Tosh with your loving messages through facebook, email, and phone, your prayers, and your financial contributions.  So many beautiful stories came in from those of you whose lives were touched in some way by Tosh - we were deeply moved.  The support around him was so great that more than one of his nurses commented that he seemed to be surrounded by angels when he was in the treatment rooms.  We also were moved by your donations which covered nearly half of the cost of his treatment ($3872 out of $9000) - we couldn't have done it without the support of so many.

Right now, the prognosis looks good, so those of you coming to Wild! Kids Camp or Artistry of Peace this summer (in the Northern Hemisphere) will likely be welcomed by Tosh, as he has welcomed so many others over the years!  In the meantime, we will be supporting his continued health and preparing the land.  We will post any further significant updates on the Play in the Wild! facebook page.

Peace All Ways,

Catherine, Jesse, and the entire Play in the Wild! Animator Team
