Downtown Akron welcomes back the Cleveland International Film Festival
Knight and Day in Akron scheduled at three Downtown venues

The Cleveland International Film Festival is proud to hold screenings in Downtown Akron for the fifth consecutive year and added The Nightlight as a third screening location in addition to the Akron Art Museum and Akron-Summit County Public Library. Plus the program will now take place on Friday evening and Saturday.

 

Friday's screening of FINDING THE GOLD WITHIN at 7 p.m. will be preceded by a reception in the Library lobby. Hor d'oeuvres and beverages will be served. That screening will be followed by a FilmForum.

 

Tickets are available online now for CIFF members and will open to the general public on March 6. Tickets may also be purchased by phone or in person at the CIFF Box Office at Tower City Cinemas. Day of show tickets can be purchased on-site beginning one hour prior to the start of the first screening at each Akron location.

St. Patrick's Day Parade marches down Main Street St. Patrick's Day
"The Irish Salute our Safety Men and Women" themed event is March 14

The 34th annual St. Patrick's day Parade steps off at noon on Saturday, March 14 and travels Main Street from Exchange to Bowery.  The parade is sponsored by the Mark Heffernan and Margaret Judge Divisions of the Ancient Order of Hibernians (AOH).

 

The Akron Police will lead off the parade and will be followed by the Honorable Mayor Don Plusquellic and County Executive Russ Pry. Following are AOH Honor Guard, Irish National, State, and Local dignitaries, as well as AOH Divisions from Medina and Summit County. There will also be local pipe and drum bands, Red Hackle Pipe & Drum Band as well as the West Side Irish American Pipe Club, local politicians and dignitaries, and other local organizations along with the normal parade floats.
