MCTV to offer live, local election coverage

On Tuesday, November 4, Martin County Television (MCTV) will be broadcasting General Election night coverage live beginning at 7:00 pm with hosts Gabriella Ferraro and Peter Schaller. MCTV will be bringing returns to the viewing audience as soon as they are available. Learn more >

The Martin County Film and Television Office has been enlisted by the producers of America's Got Talent to help spread the word that auditions for Season Ten of the show are coming to Tampa on November 2 and they are seeking talented individuals and groups from all over Florida. Learn more >

Now is the time to weigh in on All Aboard Florida

County staff is closely examining the Federal Railroad Administration's Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) regarding All Aboard Florida's proposal to provide intercity passenger rail service between Miami and Orlando. Martin County Supervisor of Elections, Vicki Davis, would like to remind all Martin County registered voters that Early Voting is still open. Vote early this weekend from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm at seven locations. Remember to bring signed, voter identification. Make your vote count! Learn more >

Mockingjay movie release party

Teens are invited to the Robert Morgade Library on Saturday, November 15 for a party celebrating the release of the next movie in The Hunger Games series. Mockingjay Part I will be in theaters in November. Come celebrate with other fans to prepare for release day! For details, call 219-4908.

Operation Enduring Freedom:The War in Afghanistan

Come to the Blake Library on Wednesday, November 5 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm to meet veterans and see a documentary film on the Allied Campaign to promote democracy in Afghanistan by fighting Islamic terrorism. A very timely program to take in just before Veterans Day. For more info, call 288-5702.
Make your own mummy!

Kids ages 5 to 12 are invited to the Blake Library on Saturday, November 8 from 2:00 to 3:00 pm to follow the steps of ancient Egyptians to create your own mummy from a stuffed animal. Stuffed animals required, but please note that they will go through the process of mummification so leave your favorite at home. Call 221-1407 for details.

World War II and the Treasure Coast

History buffs are invited to the Hoke Library on Saturday, November 8 from 12:30 to 1:30 pm for this fascinating talk. Ronald Grenville Frazer, adjunct history professor at IRSC, will lead this lecture about life on the Treasure Coast during the war. Call 463-2872 for details.

Health and Wellness Fair

Come to Log Cabin Senior Center in Langford Park for the Health and Wellness Fair on Friday, November 7 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm. Get free blood pressure checks, blood sugar screenings and flu shots. The event will also include free seminars on estate planning, Medicaid and Medicare roll out plans and Five Wishes, as well as host a Licensed Social Worker, have 10-minute chair massages and light refreshments. 

Bathtub Reef Beach currently unguarded

Recent weather conditions have eroded Bathtub Reef Beach, resulting in the need to remove the lifeguard stand from the shoreline. Bathtub Reef Beach will not be guarded until conditions improve. The beach is currently open to the public, however, swimmers are reminded to use caution.

The Studio at the Elliott Museum presents Girls' Night Out! On selected Thursday nights each month, create with professional instructors and let your creative juices flow (along with a little wine!)
