The EWGA Championship is the largest women's amateur golf tournament in the world.  Played in three stages, participation requires an official USGA Handicap Index and is for EWGA members only. This year, the one-time entry fee to the 3-leg national tournament has been raised to $50.  Considering that the entry fee to the Iowa State Women's Amateur tournament is over $100, it's still a great deal.  Green fees, golf cart, and food charges to play in the Chapter Championship at Glynns Creek will be an additional $50 making the total cost to play in the championship $100.

I urge you all to consider supporting the Chapter Championship.  It's flighted and your full handicap will be used.   Newer golfers can gain poise and confidence in their golf skills by competing in a big-time tournament such as this.  At the local level, it's much less intimidating!  You'll be competing against players with similar handicaps.  And, should you win your flight and decide not to advance to the 2nd leg, you are under no obligation to do so. Win or lose, it's a great experience.  So, test yourself!

-  The Stroke Play division has five flights: Championship, First, Second, Third, and Fourth Flight.  The flight you play in is determined by your official USGA Handicap Index. CLICK HERE for details.

-  The Team Scramble division consists of four players on a team.   A computation of each person's USGA Handicap Index results in a team handicap.  CLICK HERE for details.

The one-time $50 Championship entry fee applies to all three stages described below:

Stage 1 - QC Chapter Championship.
The First Place Low Gross and First Place Low Net in each flight (for stroke play) and the First Place Scramble Team will advance to Stage 2.  Registration is open now and will close at midnight on July 1, 2015 (no exceptions).

Stage 2 - District Semi-Final Championship will be played August 22, 2015 at Thornberry Creek, Oneida, Wisconsin.

Registration Deadline is  August 6, 2015. From this competition, the First Place Low Gross and First Place Low Net in each flight of Stroke Play; and the First Place  Scramble Team will advance to Stage 3. You will be competing against women in the Upper Midwest District from EWGA Chapters in Iowa, Illinois, Minnesota and Wisconsin.

Stage 3 - EWGA Championship Finals will be played

October 30-31, 2015, at The Westin Mission Hills Resort, Pete Dye & Gary Player Courses, in Rancho Mirage, California.  All Regional winners throughout the Association will compete.

This year the registration process has been simplified and will include registration and payment for both the Championship entry fee ($50) and the local costs for green fee, cart and meal ($50). The registration process is through HQ EWGA and not done locally. A brief tutorial on the new registration process can be reviewed if you CLICK HERE.
