FACULTY SPOTLIGHT

Get to Know Mrs. Claire Fairchild

Mrs. Claire Fairchild

After growing up on St. Simons Island, Mrs. Claire Fairchild moved to Columbus and joined the St. Anne-Pacelli Catholic School Viking family as a 4th grade teacher in 2005. She's been teaching middle school grades since 2010.

"I love the day-to-day interaction with students," Mrs. Fairchild says of her current role as a 6th grade homeroom and Language Arts teacher. "Seeing them make progress and grow into more independent and responsible teenagers is a joy!"

After earning her bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Georgia Southern University, Mrs. Fairchild went on to obtain a teaching certificate from Armstrong Atlantic State University. Prior to working at St. Anne-Pacelli, she was a member of JCPenney's management team. "I still work at JCPenney part-time," she notes.

When not working, Mrs. Fairchild can be found on the tennis courts or at the movie theater (she's a big Star Wars fan). "I also love going to the beach and reading a good book."

Mrs. Fairchild and her husband, John, have been married for 22 years. They have one daughter, Emily, who is a freshman at Columbus State University; a dog, Kenzie; and two cats, Little Girl and Crusher.
