Workforce Planning Hamilton is proud to be a Living Wage Employer!

Workforce Planning Hamilton was pleased to be recognized as a Living Wage employer last Friday, June 26th. WPH along with close to 20 other employers including private, public, and not-for-profit sectors were recognized by the Living Wage Committee of the Hamilton Roundtable for Poverty Reduction.
WPH takes this commitment very seriously and from a workforce development perspective sees this as an important step for all employers in Hamilton to consider in terms of being a progressive employer as well as a good corporate citizen.
Hamilton Immigrant Mentoring Partnership (HIMP) funding has been completed
Funding from the Trillium Foundation to operate the HIMP program has now come to an end. For the past two years HIMP was a huge success in the community, matching many mentees with mentors.
WPH is currently researching future funding for HIMP and in the interim the program has been suspended. The HIMP website and email address are still operational and will be monitored. Current mentoring matches will be maintained until they reach their conclusion. Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities launches two new employment programs for young people
As the Youth Employment Fund ends, MTCU announced on June 29, 2015, two new programs for youth, Youth Job Connection and Youth Job Link.
Youth Job Connection will launch in fall 2015 and will serve youth 15-29 who have multiple and/or complex barriers to employment. The program will include paid pre-employment training; job matching and paid job placements; mentorship services; and education and work transition supports.
Youth Job Link will be aimed at students and youth who don't have significant barriers to employment. Services will include access to job search resources and information to help them transition to the labour market.
