I have been asked to post by many for quite a while. I have refrained from doing so because the news has been conflicting. Everything I say in this writing, please take as an opinion piece only. 

This is a fluid situation and it can and has changed direction on a dime many times based on what recently happened on the ground. So I advise you to understand that what I believe is going on, may or may not be actually as I see it.

First, I believe the CBI when they state shortly they will introduce the 50 and 100 thousand notes. I think this is a necessary temporary fix to a problem that showed up earlier.

Time is Money:  An Asset Protection Strategy

I've never worn a watch. I flatter myself that's because of a high school Latin teacher/lacrosse coach named Thurber who, when asked why he didn't, responded that "a man who wears a watch worries too much about time."

That quote has always stuck with me. Its philosophical brevity is almost Hellenic.

My real reason for going watch-less is simpler, however. I have a hard enough time keeping track of my keys, wallet, eyeglasses and anything else I need during my daily journey to worry about a watch as well.

In fact, I'm pretty sure the only watch I ever owned was one that had belonged to my grandfather, that my Dad gave me when I was about 5 - what was he thinking? - that I promptly dropped and broke.

My relationship with timepieces, in other words, is  Thurberesque in another way entirely.

But there are people for whom watches are an asset protection strategy ...

THE PRESIDENT:  Well, it is a pleasure to be with Prime Minister Abadi and his delegation.  Obviously, the United States has made an enormous commitment and investment in Iraq, and we're fortunate to have a reliable partner in Prime Minister Abadi.
 
The challenges that Iraq face continue to be significant.  Obviously, ISIL, or Daesh, has been active in its terrorist activities, particularly in Anbar and some of the western portions of the country. We have seen successes, but we've also seen setbacks. 

In areas like Tikrit, we've seen the Iraqi security forces operate very effectively with the international coalition to drive back ISIL.  Most recently, in Ramadi, we saw ISIL concentrate its forces to get what I believe will be a short-term tactical gain.

The upcoming RV Process
I have had a recent talk with my CBI contact in Baghdad. The conversation was long and once again the process about to take place was described to me. This is what I was told:

The CBI would begin the distribution of the new lower denominations along with the newer 50k and 100k coins. These larger notes (coins) are not to go out to the general public on the streets but rather are only to be used for inter-banking, international business, large commerce and very large amounts of cash transfers. Once distribution begins we will then see a .90 cent international rate. This low rate is to relieve pressure from inflation and to make the transition to a global currency. It will not last long (maybe a week at most) then they plan to conduct a full revaluation and adjust the rate to align with surrounding middle eastern countries. They would not tell me the rate but my guess is it will come out somewhere around $4.00 +.

Abadi is also in the mix since he hopes the .90 cents will put pressure on the legislature by the populous to pass the needed laws (in a basket of laws) with threat of interim elections coming up, especially the amnesty law which is a requirement by the USA before any full RV would happen.

I am also going to continue to run some information on identity thief since this is now ramped in this dinar community. I have heard now about many who have lost their currency to these wolves. Many reading this may say they certainly would never fall for any of these tricks. Really? You especially might want to read the section on this topic in today's news letter.

  Fireball92:  After the last couple weeks seeing the parade of articles and the various analytical minds that have dissected and reassembled the intel hiding within, it is painfully obvious that there is so much going on globally that it boggles the mind.

Tony et al are and have been touting the immediate inevitable RI/RV which I personally really need. I still think Tony and TNT has the best intel however admittedly not all. Over the several years in Dinarland I had shopped around extensively for a trustworthy, steady source of information.

Millionday is great but totally relies essentially on articles. Frank26 is very astute and information is usually good. My reservations with F26 ... F26 also relies a lot on articles along with intel but says that by the time information is in an article it has ALREADY occurred.

Parliament calling on the government to freeze the "oil and gas law," and proceeds to have a new draft 

I was asked this question : Think we need this done prior ? 

This is more important for the people of Iraq,  the citizens deserve their fair share of the oil profits ! Does this reflect our investment one way or the other ? I say nope.

 I am sure the CBI would like to see the stability and unity that will go along with the law but it is NOT necessary IMO to continue forward with the currency reform. 

These are two different animals. Besides, WHEN the Kurds and Baghdad actually execute their oil agreement it will cover all that is needed as far as the gas and oil export etc... for the short term.

Frank26:  IMO ....... Because the political world knows A's currency MR is about to unfold .......... With or without them.

IMO ....... The IMF and the USA are the same ......... Jealous that Iraq is about to dominate as they peg instead of being PEGGED to.
