This service is a collaboration with Yavneh Day School. We are pleased to announce that Zvi Weiss, Head of Yavneh Day School, will be our featured speaker. During the service, we will honor all of our L'Dor V'Dor Legacy Society members and we hope to see you there to learn about the importance of legacy giving.

Join Temple Emanu-El's Israel Advocacy Committee and the Addison-Penzak Jewish Community Center of Silicon Valley for a converation with Dr. Michael Harris, the founder of Bay Area Stand With Us and Sarita Bronstein, the executive director of Hillel of Silicon Valley.  This open conversation is about antisemitism in America, and on college campuses in particular.

Silicon Valley Jewish Film Festival with Brotherhood
Sunday, October 18 at 5:00 PM
Brotherhood Night at the Silicon Valley Jewish Film Festival will view the movie "Dough" at the AMC Saratoga 14 theater (700 El Paseo De Saratoga, San Jose 95130). We have arranged a group purchase of tickets and reserved seating in the theatre for $10/person.  After the movie, we'll go as a group for a no-host dinner to Capers.

If you would like to donate your copy, or copies, of Gates of Repentance, please bring them to the Temple Administration Office.  Rabbi Magat and the staff will make sure the books are donated to the appropriate places.

Beginning the Friday after Yom Kippur, we began a new Refuah Shlayma (Healing) list in honor of the new year. Please submit names even if they are currently on the list!

Caring Committee Volunteers
The Caring Committee is made up of volunteer members of the congregation who provide caring to families in crisis, whether related to death or illness, with particular attention to the elderly who may not have a support system. Activities may include phone calls, home and hospital visits, helping with food, and transportation. The committee's goal is to be there when needed, so that no one walks alone.

Bagel Brunch

The Silicon Valley Holocaust Survivors Association invites the community to a bagel brunch with coffee and tea.  

This program will feature "Through the Eye of the Needle," the art of Esther Nisenthal Krinitz, a survivor of the Holocaust in Poland.

A $5 donation is recommended.
