Wallace Travel Group

is delighted to introduce you to the wonderful

County Cork

in the south-west of Ireland

Cork City Centre
During the summer when our clients were enjoying their well earned breaks, we spent the summer visiting destinations around Ireland to make sure that we are up to speed on all things up and coming in the meetings, incentives, conferences and events worlds. So, here's a snap shot of what I did and saw when I was in Cork for 2 days with Cork Convention Bureau.
The Jameson Old Midleton Distillery
The Jameson Old Midleton Distillery in East Cork is a wonderful, worthwhile excursion and I have to say was the highlight of my visit to Cork! Tour the distillery and learn how the world famous Irish Whiskey is made and finish the tour with a whiskey tasting. Evening events can also take place here, and you can bottle your very own bottle of Jameson!
The English Market
Voted one of the top ten best food markets in Europe by the Observer Food Magazine, the English Market in Cork is not to be missed. The atmosphere, sights and smells make the English Market a shopping experience unlike any other in the city. The bustling market is full of the freshest produce from local farmers and producers, including meat, seafood, and fruit & vegetables.

For those with a sweet tooth, a visit to the homemade cakes and chocolate stalls will be the highlight. The famous Farm Gate Restaurant has a private dining room.
Cork City Gaol
Cork is a city with a very rich historical and archaeological heritage - much of it still in evidence today.
Part of this heritage, Cork City Gao l is located 2 km NW from Patrick's Street and this magnificent castle-like building housed 19th century prisoners!
Evening guests get a fascinating insight into day-today prison life at a time when the high walls ensured no escape and denied law-
abiding citizens the opportunity to see one of the finest examples of Ireland's architectural heritage and enjoy dinner in one of the wings!
Cobh
The port town of Cobh is a must - visit for anyone visiting Cork. Whether you have an interest in Titanic and you want to visit the Titanic Experience, or you'd like to partake in a cultural walking tour of this picturesque town, Cobh is real treat and the locals are so friendly and welcoming!
