On March 4, 2015, the U.S. Supreme Court heard oral arguments in a lawsuit challenging the ability of the federal government to provide subsidies to individuals in states that did not establish their own Exchange.

Several lawsuits challenge the government's ability to provide subsidies in states that did not establish their own Exchanges.

On March 4, 2015, the U.S. Supreme Court heard oral arguments in one case, King v. Burwell.  A ruling from the Supreme Court is not expected until late June or early July 2015. Despite these pending cases, a White House statement on Nov. 7, 2014, confirms that subsidies remain available.
