Baseball at St. John's just concluded another successful CYO league season. In its third year since its reintroduction in 2013 with just T-ball, the program has continued to grow by attracting new student players, parent coaches, team moms and other volunteers. This season over 30 children played either on the introductory level T-ball team, or one of the two coach-pitch baseball teams.
At all levels, the St. John's teams had some of the strongest participation and most competitive squads within the league. All coaches reported great skills development among the players, and their readiness to advance to their respective next levels. At the season-concluding picnic cookout and party, awards and recognition were given to all the players and a friendly players vs. coaches game of kickball was played.
It is gratifying that there is such enthusiasm and support, and we hope to expand the program further next year to include T-ball, coach-pitch, and minor league player pitch as well as working to expand the program to include more schools. Please stay tuned for more information about signing up for the 2016 season, or contact our Athletic Director, Les Perez, if you have any suggestions, or would like to volunteer.
Thanks, and GO EAGLES!
