The Opus of Argentina?

Finca Perdriel is Bodega Norton's limited, top tier set of wines - and the pride of place is "Centenario" - a Malbec, Cabernet and Merlot blend that demonstrates just how special this part of Mendoza is.

But to compare it to Opus?  Well, my real point here is that California wines of this pedigree, grown and made by these methods OFTEN cost 4 or 5 times what we are charging for this.

Just a few bottles remain.

Facts:

* Sourced from the oldest vineyards on the Estate (dating to the late 1800s.

*Soils here are much thinner than in Lujn de Cuyo, forcing the vines to struggle, producing lower yields and more concentrated fruit.

* Aged fourteen months in the very best French oak barrels

* Hand-harvested to ensure the best selection of grapes.

2006 Finca Perdriel "Centenario"

Deep red color, with fine, elegant and complex aromas of black fruit, spices, and graphite. Firm, round and velvety tannins support a complex mid-palate full of black fruit and mineral notes. The finish is fresh and long-lasting.  At eight years of age, this beauty is just beginning to reveal its true charms!
