Paddle Plunge and Family Fun Day
#ymcapaddleplunge

On April 11, just as the ice clears Kingston Lake, Southern District YMCA supporters will don their best costumes and race into the water for a freezing dip in the lake to benefit The Paddle Plunge. The Paddle plunge raises money for the YMCA Scholarship Fund, which helps make YMCA programs more affordable for families in need.

Support the Y! Donate to the Paddle Plunge!

In addition to the Paddle Plunge itself, there are a lot of FREE activities for families and friends to do at camp: climb the treadwall, challenge a friend in carpetball, make s'mores and enjoy lunch.

Will you take the plunge? Participants receive a free lunch, prizes for the best costumes and the joy of helping a good cause. The minimum suggested donation per individual is $50. The minimum suggested donation per team is $150. Making your own fundraising page is easy! We have created a Crowdrise event to get you started. Click here to join the Paddle Plunge!

March is National Nutrition Month
Bite into a healthy lifestyle everywhere you go!

With so much information and so little time to plan and prepare meals, it can seem that eating healthy is nearly an impossible task in today's world. There are small steps that even the busiest families can take in order to improve your family's health each day. Here are some simple steps you can take to improve your daily approach to healthy eating:

  • Aim for five fruits and vegetables every day
  • Choose your drinks with care
  • Check the label
  • Control your portions

For additional tips and strategies for building these and more healthy habits, visit the YMCA's Healthy Family Home.

To help you celebrate National Nutrition Month, we have shared a few simple, healthy, delicious and fun recipes on our blog. Find them here, and let us know if you like them!
