News from the Admissions Office:
We continue to receive many inquiries about Saint Bridget School for the 2015-2016 school year.  Catholic School week resulted in just one Open House so we have decided to add a couple of additional opportunities to show off our school.  Please spread the word:

Wednesday March 4, 2015 - Pre-K and Kindergarten Open House - 6:30-7:30pm

6:30-7:30pm

Middle School Open House - We are hosting this event during the CCD time for any CCD parents who may be interested in coming in and seeing the Middle School while their children are in class.   All are welcome.

If you know anyone that may be interested in attending one of these Open Houses, please encourage them to come - or better yet, invite them and come with them.

"Saint Bridget School Tidbits" - remember to spread the Good News about Saint Bridget School:

1.  Did you know that we have 18 staff members that have been here more than 10 years?
2.  Our 8th grade class has 31 students this year, and 20 of the 8th graders have been at Saint Bridget School since Pre-K or Kindergarten.
Stability in both the staff and student populations facilitates academic excellence in a constantly changing and challenging world. The rapport between our staff and school families builds a strong partnership where student success is paramount.

The St. Vincent de Paul applications are available in Mrs. Sebastian's office at the rectory.  This is a need-base scholarship for grades 1-8 only in 2015-16 for those families who live in Ashland and Framingham.  Please call Mrs. Sebastian at 508-875-5959 or email [email protected] for an application which is due back in her office on Friday, March 6, 2015.  All information is kept strictly confidential.

Development Office

Congratulations to KM & 5W for winning the Annual Fund % Participation Contest! Thank you to all parents who have supported the Annual Fund Participation drive! We are currently at 27% of all parents supporting our school. Although, the Catholic Schools Class competition is over the Parent participation push continues through the end of the school year.

What we have discovered is that organizations that offer grants and gifts to schools like Saint Bridget, look to our participation levels in order to judge if we are a worthwhile investment.  Help Saint Bridget School stand out!!  We need everyone's help to reach our goal of 100% participation.

The funds raised last year purchased the new reading materials for grades K-5, covered a teacher's salary and much more. These are 100% tax deductible donations hard at work! We are asking for any financial contribution you feel comfortable making, keeping in mind that the bottom line is not as important as the percentage of people that participate. We want to show the community, alumni and supporting foundations that we are a strong and viable community and that their investment is us will pay dividends for life.

Why give.

The St. Bridget Giving Tree is surviving the winter, with a few snowflakes to prove it! If you haven't picked from the Tree, please take a moment to review the simple requests from our teachers and staff, for items that make their jobs a bit easier within their classrooms. You can pick an Apple, and give it to Mrs. Feeney, with a check made out to the St. Bridget PTO (memo: Giving Tree) and the item will be purchased and forwarded to the grateful teacher or staff member. Thank you for considering a gift from the Giving Tree!

FYI: Snow Days

Mr. Rick Gallagher, Director of School Transportation, relying largely upon the Dept. of Public Works and the Police Dept., as well as personal observations, will relay by telephone, the condition of the roads, sidewalks and parking areas at the schools to Dr. Stacey Scott, School Superintendent. The Superintendent will make the decision and notify the school principals and the media. If the radio and television say there is no school in Framingham Public Schools, that means there is no school at St.Bridget's.

The only circumstances under which Mrs. Chaves would make the decision to close the school would be in an emergency specific to St. Bridget School.

In case of snow please do not call St. Bridget School. We will use our IRIS (Emergency Response System) to notify all families by telephone. Also you can check the radio and television for the announcement regarding Framingham Public Schools." As far as calling school during the day, the same procedure is followed. Since we depend on the school buses, it is the school bus director and the Superintendent of Schools who make that decision and tell us, again we would use the IRIS telephone system to notify you. Every parent should feel free to determine for themselves whether or not their child should come to school when the weather is questionable.

Saint Bridget School is deeply rooted in the Catholic traditions.
Our collaborative environment nurtures academic excellence, social responsibility, and Christian values in a changing and challenging world.
Saint Bridget School partners with families and our Church to develop
the whole person within a community of faith.
