Indiana Building Code Basics Seminar - for veterans and rookies alike! 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Thursday, August 20, 2015 Somerset CPAs, P.C., 3925 River Crossing Parkway, First Floor Conference Room, Indianapolis, IN
Information: For veterans and rookies alike, this new seminar will provide a systematic teaching of the fundamental basics of understanding the Indiana Building Code. The seminar will cover foundational elements of occupancy and construction type designations and fire rated separation requirements, as well as advanced analyses of mixed use buildings and means of egress requirements. The seminar includes a brief treatment of fire protection system requirements, and a discussion of applicability of the building code to existing buildings. Earn 7 AIA/CES/HSW Learning Units!

Continuing Education Reminder: Continuing education requirements for registered architects in the state of Indiana - 24 Continuing Education Units (CEU's) are required every two years. Named for three of Indiana's significant architects three of these awards have a strong history and importance to the architectural community of Indiana. Edward Pierre, Juliet Peddle and Walter Blackburn each impacted Indiana architects in their own special way and are recognized for those special contributions. The Distinguished Firm Award was added in 2009, the Young Architect Award was added in 2010, and the AIA Indiana Gold Medal Award was added in 2012.
