NEWS
I LOVE SPI 2015
The City of South Padre Island welcomes residents to show SPI some love from now until Valentine's Day 2015. To enhance the island's natural beauty, the City, in partnership with Republic Services will add extra brush and bulky item pick-up services to the regular monthly service for the "I Love SPI" campaign.

During the campaign, which will run through February 14th, residents may place brush and bulky items at the front of their property for collection without facing imposed fines. Take advantage of this   opportunity and clear your yard of unnecessary debris and items. Mow and trim around fences, concentrating on the back of the properties. Trimming your trees and plants will not only help your  property look better, it will also safeguard against brush fires and other hazards.

Introduced in 2012, the "I Love SPI" campaign encourages residents   to bring recyclable items to the regular recycling drop-off service held every Saturday from 8-11 a.m. at the Old City Hall located at 4501 Padre Boulevard. Recyclable items accepted include #1 and #2 plastics, office paper, newspaper, cardboard, tin and aluminum. During the campaign, the City will also be accepting tires.

For more information, please contact the Environmental Health Services Department at (956) 761-8123.
