All visitors to the market Saturday receives a coupon redeemable at the Country Store for reduced admission to the annual Folklife Festival, which also will be in full swing at the museum all day long on Saturday.

Founded in 2011 by a group of community volunteers committed to a local and sustainable lifestyle, the Wiregrass Farmers Market offers curated clean, locally grown food and handmade natural crafts; the market fosters close relationships between local farmers and customers, and also educational programs.

For the 2015 season, customers can expect to find their favorite local farmers offering the freshest and cleanest local produce, goat milk and cheese, cold-pressed non GMO oils, grass-fed meats, and free-range eggs, all grown with care by the very farmers who are selling them.

Also available will be artisanal baked goods, including vegan and gluten-free items, jams and jellies, handcrafted soaps and personal care items. Visitors will also find fiber goods, items for the home and jewelry, all hand-made by the vendors who sell them.

There are free nature-based children's activities weekly, a community compost bin, a demonstration garden, and frequent visits by farm animals. A Market Co-op offers market customers monthly classes on topics such as home canning, rain barrels and essential oils.

The Professional Cowboy Association-sanctioned Gee Haw Whoa Back Rodeo is back today and Saturday (April 10 and 11) at the ABAC Arena at 7:30 each night as a part of Homecoming Week at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College.

The rodeo includes saddle bronco riding, bareback riding, bull riding, team roping, calf roping, steer wrestling, break-away roping and barrel racing.

 The Georgia Pecan Growers Association is partnering with Schwinn Bicycles for the biggest cross-promotional partnership in the history of Georgia pecans.The alliance runs through Sept. 30, with monthly giveaways of Schwinn bicycles, helmets, locks and Georgia pecans.

The promotion kicked off this month -- April is National Pecan Month -- and continues into May, which is National Bike Month. Monthly prize drawings will occur all summer and into September as well.

"Pecans are one of the healthiest products at the grocery store today," said Brad Ellis, president of the Georgia Pecan Growers Association.
