Biking is better with a buddy

Two months into 2015, one thing is clear: this is going to be a big year! Riders took 2,668 trips in February, nearly triple the number of trips we saw last February (974). In fact, 2014 didn't see a month of this many trips until April. Since this looks like the year to get your friends and family riding Boulder B-cycle, we've decided to ease the process for you by introducing Buddy Passes. You can read more about that below.

This month, we're also wrapping up our annual user survey and recognizing some of our top riders. Tally ho!

Introducing Buddy Passes!

Starting this month, we're mailing Buddy Passes to all new Annual and Semester Pass holders. These passes include a promo code for a free 24-hour pass for you to bring a friend or family member along on a B-cycle ride!

If you're already a member, don't worry--you're not missing out. Just shoot an email to [email protected] and let us know if you'd like a buddy pass and we'll send one your way.

*Does anyone else still feel weird about using 'like' as an imperative?

2014 User Survey Wrap-Up

Thank you to the 262 of you who participated in our 2014 user survey (up from 250 in 2013). Formal results of the survey will be released in conjunction with our annual report in the coming weeks.

This year's survey responses brought with them some great questions, which we spent some time answering via  Twitter and Facebook. Head over to those spots to take a look if you haven't already done so.

Perhaps the biggest highlight of our survey this year: Consistent with previous years' surveys, we saw a 50/50 gender split among respondents who used our system. That's quite the rarity in the biking world, where men typically represent around 70% of the ridership in the US.

Stay tuned to see the rest of the results soon.

Top Riders For 2014!

Now that the official tallies are in, it's time to name our top riders for 2014.

Once again, Joe Paulson took the most trips, with 952 total trips under his belt for the year. That's a full 2% of all trips taken on Boulder B-cycles last year, and a big jump over his 2013 record of 861, when he was clearly sandbagging.

Joe: the raddest dude in Boulder

Joel Gilbert takes home the prize for most miles B-cycled this year, totaling 942 miles.

Joel: A well-rounded individual

Both winners will take home awesome prizes, just as soon as we can dig up a piece of B-cycle gear that they don't already have.

Will someone hit 1000 trips or 1000 miles in 2015? We think so! In fact, it just might be you, . Get out there and ride!
