Purim is coming!
There are 4 very special mitzvot that we perform on Purim, and here is how you can fulfill them right here in Charleston:

1.  Matanot Le'evyonim (Charity to the poor).  On the day of Purim we distribute money to poor Jewish people.  Rabbi Davis will be collecting money for this until 8AM on Thursday morning.  Checks can be written to the BSBI Torah Fund. Our sages teach us that if we are generous with the poor on Purim, God will be generous with us.  Now that's a good investment!

2.  Mishloach Manot.  If you are not participating in the BSBI Sisterhood Mishloach Manot, then give a food basket to a Jewish friend on the day of Purim.

3.  Megillah.  Hear the reading of the Scroll of Esther both on the night of Purim and in the Daytime.  Wednesday Mincha begins at 5:45PM followed by Maariv (6:15PM) and Megillah.  Come back on Thursday morning to hear the Megillah again. Shacharit begins at 6:45AM and Megillah approximately at 7:15AM.

4.  Seudah.  Eat a festive meal during the daytime of Purim.  Join us at the BSBI Purim Bash, beginning at 4:30PM on Thursday.  Click here to learn more and to purchase tickets.

Tomorrow is the Fast of Esther, with morning services beginning at 6:45am. Charity collection in commemoration of the Machtzit Hashekel will be available all day.

Chag Purim Sameach!
