KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION NOW OPEN
All 25 elementary schools in Hillsboro will offer free full-day kindergarten to students in fall 2015

Hillsboro School District is joining districts across the state in offering free full-day kindergarten to all students this fall. A high-quality, full-day program has been proven to be best practice for preparing children for their educational future. Students must be five years old by Tuesday, September 1, 2015, to be eligible for kindergarten in the 2015-16 year. To enroll, parents should fill out an enrollment form, complete a home language survey, supply proof of immunizations, proof of home address, and proof of the child's age. Click here  for additional information, and click here to visit the kindergarten webpage (featuring a full-day kindergarten brochure and parent handbook).

HIGH SCHOOL MATH PARENT/COMMUNITY REVIEW OPPORTUNITY

Parents and community members are invited to an open house event where the high school math materials currently being considered for adoption by the School Board - Houghton Mifflin Harcourt: AGA Digital - will be demonstrated and available for review. The event takes place on Wednesday, March 4, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Computer Lab at the Administration Center (3083 NE 49th Place, Hillsboro). The High School Math Study Team has been reviewing and testing materials for the high school materials adoption for the past two years, and feels the materials they have recommended provide the best learning options for students.
OPEN ENROLLMENT INTER-DISTRICT STUDENT TRANSFER WINDOW NOW OPEN
HSD is accepting applications March 1 - April 1, 2015

The window for inter-district "open enrollment" student transfers, as defined by Oregon House Bill 3681 (HB3681), is now open. Students residing in other districts, who wish to attend a school in the Hillsboro School District beginning the 2015-16 school year, may submit their applications for an open enrollment transfer throughout the month of March. Open enrollment transfers do not require a release from the student's home district.

Not all schools or grade levels are open to HB3681 transfers. Information on participating schools is posted on our website. Per the state law, lotteries will be conducted as needed if requests exceed the number of spaces available; reasons for request are not considered.

Please review the terms of HB3681 carefully before applying. Click here for information and application forms.
