Next Tuesday, we will hold our rescheduled luncheon to honor the chapter's Scholarship winners, and Susan Pullium with NCDOT will be giving a presentation on North Carolina's 25-year vision. On the 15th, Lori Bruhn will kick off our 2015 breakfast series with a discussion on efficient and effective meetings. Jane Nelson with HDR will discuss Right-of-Way Acquisition on the 16th for our final Transportation YOU event of the school year, and we're looking for volunteers to help on a Woman's Build through Habitat for Humanity on the 24th.

Additionally, Stand Up 4 Transportation Day is April 9, and our chapter has joined APTA and its cause. To find out more and see what you can do, click here.

Featured Business

Atkins is based in the United Kingdom, with more than 18,000 employees across the globe. As one of the world's most respected design, engineering and project management consultancies, the company believes it has a responsibility to help move the world forward, one step at a time. The company cares about being a place where everyone is considered, and where lives are enriched through the implementation of its ideas.

This purpose is reflected in grand projects that touch many thousands, such as engineering services for the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games in London, architectural and engineering services for the Burj al Arab hotel in Dubai, construction management for the Statue of Liberty renovation, and theme design and landscape architecture for the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studies. It's also reflected in the smaller projects that can change the lives of a single community, such as the Field of Dreams Park in Brevard County, Fla. Atkins prepared the master plan and helped bring this park to the groundbreaking of Phase 1 last fall. The 4.8-acre park is a special-needs sports complex for children and young adults with disabilities. The park isn't just ADA compliant; its visionary design goes further, focusing specifically on allowing all visitors to enjoy the thrill of active participation in baseball, basketball, soccer, playgrounds, miniature golf, and other activities.
