Funding for Med Tech through QED

The QED Program seeks medical technologies with high commercial potential. These technologies may include therapeutics, medical devices, in vitro diagnostics, imaging agents, and biomaterials, or software-enabled tools such as bioinformatics, mobile applications, and electronic records. A panel of industry experts makes recommendations for funding (up to $100,000 in cash over 12 months to be matched by institutional resources) to implement the selected projects and encourage follow-on investment from the private sector. QED provides key resources, including business guidance, bridge funding, and access to industry and investor representatives, to competitively selected projects.  Rutgers has a strong track record for getting technologies funded in past cycles. Important: This year QED reviewers will be giving special consideration for investigators involved in collaborative efforts. They are particularly interested in brain and ovarian cancer, gene therapy, imaging, and neuro-degenerative diseases, e.g. Alzheimer's and dementia.
